2026 RCLL Travel Baseball

WELCOME TO RCLL TRAVEL BASEBALL!

Your player has been invited to register for 2026 Robbinsdale Crystal Little League travel baseball. This program is part of the official Little League international travel baseball program, a new offering in 2026.

District Travel Details:

District Travel is intended for players who want additional competitive baseball opportunities beyond their regular season RCLL team. Players who are selected for a team and register (based upon their player evaluation in March) will form a separate "Travel" team and participate in 3 Weekend Tournaments over the course of the regular season outside of their regular season team activities (players will not miss any regular season team activities to participate). Teams will participate within the framework of Little League: these travel games will be played using LL rules, LL sanctioned bats (USA bat stamp), and LL District Umpires. Additionally, pitch count limitations will be in place to protect the regular season team's ability to stay competitive and ensure we're maximizing opportunities for players.

Do we still play on a RCLL house team?

Yes! This is simply an additional opportunity for players desiring more competitive opportunities to test their skills against some of the best players from the other Little Leagues across the Metro. (To be eligible, players must be on a regular season RCLL team.)

How will the teams be determined?

Because Little League District Travel is intended as a limited, competition-focused experience, teams will be based upon player evaluations with coaches having final discretion on which players will be on the roster. It is our goal to field one team at each age level of 9U, 10U, and 11U.

When will these games take place?

LL District Travel teams will play in 3 tournaments depending upon interest and availability. The tournaments will feature 2-4 games per weekend across Saturday and Sunday on the following 3 weekends:

May 16-17th

May 30-31st

June 13-14th

Players will be asked to provide availability during registration. With regular season games and practices in full swing, practices for the travel program will be limited.

Where will these games/tournaments take place?

District Travel Tournaments will be hosted by Little Leagues around the Metro, including some hosted by RCLL. We don't have the specifics on age group/locations yet, but families could potentially drive as far as Centennial Lakes (the farthest league away from RCLL) for games. It's quite likely, though, that the games will be played closer (Golden Valley, Plymouth New Hope, Coon Rapids, Hamel, Hopkins, etc). There should be no need for hotels/travel expenses beyond driving.

What will this cost?

Players will receive an additional shirt/ jersey and hat, playing roughly 6-12 additional games with district umpires supplied, and these teams needing their own LL Charter and insurance, the cost per player will be $100. Is this the same as All Stars? How is it different from All Stars?

This is NOT the same as All Stars. While there may be players who are on both the Regular Season Little League District Travel Team for their age group AND are later selected for All Star Teams for play in July, there is not a correlation between the two. The District Travel team(s) for each age group will be selected based upon player evaluations and coach discretion. All Stars selections will be based upon regular season player performance and regular season coach recommendations in consultation with the nominated and appointed All Star Coaches. Being selected for one team is not a guarantee of being selected for the other.

Next steps after registration:

Spring training: watch your email for details on our FREE spring training sessions, which will be held February 22nd, March 1st, and March 8th, 2026.
Evaluations: all players B-Minor and above will participate in evaluations. Evaluations will be held March 15th, 2026. Watch your email for times.
Team forming: teams will be formed after evaluations. You will hear from your coach in late March.
NEW: Practices will start earlier this year -- the week of March 23rd -- as we have secured indoor gym use to beat the weather!
Opening day is May 2nd - we look forward to seeing you there!

School Enrollment Form

Please download/complete the school enrollment form, and return it to us on the evaluation date in March. This completed form helps us verify residency requirements for post-season play.

Family Volunteer Fee / Shift Information

NEW THIS YEAR: The deposit check amount has been raised to $500 for DIB shifts. As noted, we will not cash this if you complete your shifts. If you know you will NOT complete your shifts, you may 'buy out' of DIBS for $350 but ONLY if you notify the league when you submit your check at evaluations.

We require a deposit check in the amount of $500 per family in order for each player to participate. Your child(ren) will not receive their uniform if a deposit is not received before opening day. Please note that the check WILL NOT be cashed, unless the required volunteer shifts are not completed by the end of the tournament season, which is late July. Upon completion of required volunteer hours per family, the check will be destroyed. We will be collecting the deposit checks during evaluations on March 15, 2026.

The number of shifts required is as follows: one player (6 shifts), two players (8 shifts) and three or more players (9 shifts). A volunteer shift typically lasts two hours. Please note that this is the minimum required to receive the deposit back at the end of the tournament season at the of end of July. We welcome families to complete more shifts if they desire.

Coupon Card Fundraiser

Each player is required to sell five $20 coupon cards. The coupon cards contain 12 local businesses, each with their own individual coupon for their business. Individuals and teams with highest sales will get prizes. The money is used to cover operating expenses throughout the season and keep our registration fees low. Families will be required to bring $100 cash or check to evaluations. If you bring a check, it will be cashed on April 1, 2026. Families will then keep the money from the sale of their coupon cards. A date for coupon card distribution is still being discussed. More information will be provided once a date has been set.

NOTE: Financial assistance may be available through the T-Mobile Call Up Grant Program. Click the link to learn more and watch the site for dates and availability. We also offer three-installment payment plans that let you pay over time. Installment payment due dates are April 1st, May 1st and June 1st 2026. We want all players to have the chance to join us, so please reach out to us if the registration fee poses a financial difficulty.
