T-Mobile Home Run Derby

What: We will host the annual T-Mobile Home Run Derby where players will compete to see who can send the ball sailing!  Specific rules are below.
Who: The competition is open to players 10-12, but all are welcome to join and watch the fun.  Note that rules reference players 9 and up, but RCLL hosts the event for 10-12 year old players.
When: Thursday, 6/5, starting at 6:30 PM

Home Run Derby Rules

• The competition is open to players baseball ages 10-12 for RCLL
• All players must where their team jersey, hat, batting helmet, and an athletic cup (where applicable)
• Home run lines will be marked at 170’ to qualify as a ‘home run’
• Evaluators will be in the field to judge if a ball lands clear of the home run line
• Each player will be allowed a set time limit to hit as many home runs as possible
• There will be 3 rounds of hitting, with a set number of players with the most home runs advancing to the next round
• A machine will be used for pitching
• Bats must met USA Baseball Bat Standards as adopted by Little League
• No players are allowed on the field during batting except judges, the batter, pitchers/catchers, and designated ball shaggers
